January: Street Performer

Series; Twelve Months in the Floating World, 1890

January: Street Performer - Interesting scene of a street performer who is carrying a miniature kabuki theater strapped to his back. He is also selling woodblock kabuki prints, which are clipped to a wooden pole. A small boy looks happily at a print beside him, and two small children run across the bridge at right, eager to catch up with the performer. A charming print with a soft watercolor-like landscape in the background.

Artist - Gekko (1859 - 1920)

Image Size - 8 7/8" x 13" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight toning. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
