Four Kabuki Portraits

Comments - Interesting print composed of four yotsugiri-sized kabuki portraits attached together. At upper right, a commoner looks up from the letter he is reading, a large knife in his other hand. He has a fantastic tattoo of a dragon on his upper arm. At bottom right, a rather disheveled-looking man uses a straw mat as a raincoat as a flash of lightning streaks across the night sky. Nice expressive figures.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - Each image 6 3/4" x 4 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Four attached panels. Slight paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous mounting. Wormhole, repaired. Creasing, slight soiling, stain. Please see photos for details.
