Street Knight Lifting His Hat

Series; Mirror of Good and Evil People, 1868

Street Knight Lifting His Hat - Handsome kabuki design of a street knight lifting his hat high above his head for a better view as he looks out across the sky. He carries a lantern in his other hand, and has a single sword at his side. He wears an informal summer cotton kimono in a bold blue and white design, tied with a plaid obi. Beautiful shading on the underside of the hat and in the dark night sky. An attractive composition, nicely filling the page.

Condition - This print with excellent as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at top corners and bottom center from previous mounting. Horizontal centerfold. Stitching holes at top edge, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
