Series; An Evening of Storytelling (Kodan Isseki Banashi)

Ichikawa Danjuro as Cabinet Minister of the Right Nobunaga - Great kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro as the Cabinet Minister of the Right Nobunaga, facing two spears that are thrust at him while another assailant grabs him around the waist. He grimaces with rage as he looks over his shoulder, wind whipping his hair about his face, gripping a pole arm in one hand. He wears a light blue kimono over a white robe shaded in yellow, each with an embossed geometric pattern. Arrows protrude from the wall behind him, evidence of the battle taking place. A dramatic design with an expressive figure, nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair.
