Iwai Hanshiro as Ohyaku, 1874 - Intriguing kabuki scene of Iwai Hanshiro as the beauty Ohyaku, grinning happily as she bobs in the water beside a ship, hanging onto a rope with both hands as waves splash against her. At upper right, a text panel takes the form of a book folded open. A handsome design, nicely composed, with fine line work in the hair.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top edge from previous mounting. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
