Comments - Great triptych featuring scenes from the drama "Vengeance at Iga Pass" The hero, Wada Shizuma, enlists the help of his brother-in-law, the great swordsman Karaki Masaemon. to avenge his father's death, waiting to attack the murderer Kawai Matagoro as he travels through the Iga Pass. At lower right, Shizuma practices martial arts with Masaemon. In other scenes, Shizuma travels throughout Japan seeking Masaemon, finding assistance from others that assure the success of the vendetta. At upper left, Masaemon wields a sword in each hand as he dispatches Matagoro's retainers at Iga Pass. A lively design with many different vignettes skillfully pieces together to form an attractive composition. A handsome depiction of this classic tale based on a true story.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Stitching holes at one side of each panel, repaired. Slight soiling, creasing at edges. Please see photos for details.
