Comments - Terrific triptych depicting Ando Kiemon entering an enemy's camp along the shore at a river. At far right, the agitated warrior has just flung a severed head into the air, which flies over the seated samurai at left, who look up with expressions of anger and disgust. An enraged samurai charges at him with his sword drawn, while others grip their spears, ready to leap into action. A general sits at left on a folding stool, wearing full armor and a battle helmet topped with horns and a dragon figurine. The group is encircled by tent walls emblazoned with a black mon or family crest. On the opposite shore, a row of banners and standards can be scene fluttering above the treetops. An intriguing image with wonderfully expressive faces and excellent detail in the armor and weapons.
