Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Ichikawa Danjuro as Hanakawado Sukeroku

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro as the otokodate or street knight Hanakawado Sukeroku. He looks up with a frown, his brows slightly furrowed, a purple sash tied rakishly around his forehead. He wears a black kimono over a red under robe, tied with a blue print obi, a sword at his side and a shakuhachi flute just visible behind his back at left. A nice large expressive figure.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few small tears at edges and holes, repaired. Creasing, slight soiling. Please see photos for details.
