The Honorable Crown Prince, 1889

Comments - Interesting scene of the Honorable Crown Prince bowing and presenting an object wrapped in cloth to his father, the Meiji Emperor. The Emperor sits on a plush red chair trimmed with fringe, dressed in a military uniform, his cap places on a stand at his side. Dignitaries are gathered for the ceremony, watching the boy solemnly. Wonderful detail in the interior, which includes patterned carpet, a variety of drapes edged with fringe, and a glass chandelier at upper left. Includes burnishing the black uniforms.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Vertical folds. Thinning at edge, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
