Fuji of the Capital, Courtesan Otaka of Maruebiya - Lovely portrait of the courtesan Otaka of Maruebiya, stretching out her hands before her. Her kimono features a chrysanthemum pattern, worn over a pair of red under robes and tied with a black obi with a large medallion design. A koto rests on the floor behind her, alongside a paper package marked "Senjoku," a popular brand of face powder. A circular inset at upper left depicts Mt. Fuj as seen from the capital, done in aizuri-e or all blue. A charming design from a rarely seen Eisen beauty series.
