Yamashiro, Flowers of Daigo-ji, Chancellor Hideyoshi and Lady Yodogimi, No. 45 - Handsome scene of the daimyo Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his concubine, Lady Yodogimi, enjoying a cherry blossom viewing party at Daigo-ji Temple near Kyoto. A red floral carpet has been spread on the ground, and Hideyoshi lifts a cup of sake as he looks over at a party from the Tokugawa Clan seated across the way. The inset above shows blossoming cherry tree with a cloth panel tied to it that extends into the image below. Lovely detail in the delicate embossing of the white kimono fabric. An attractive view of this traditional spring activity.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. Loss and tear at edge, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
