Original Yoshitsuya (1822 - 1866) Japanese Woodblock Print
Warriors Grappling, 1856

Comments - Great image of two warriors grappling, one pinning his enemy to the ground with his knee as he grasps him by the throat with one hand and forces the end of his scabbard to his neck with the other. His enemy struggles to free himself, grabbing holds of his attacker's wrists. Nice expressive faces with wonderful detail in the armor and weapons. A nice Edo era design.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal and vertical folds. Loss at edge, a few holes, repaired. Creasing and wrinkling, slight toning and soiling, light stain at edge. Please see photos for details.
