Beauty and Palace Guards, 1860

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a beauty and two palace guards beneath a blossoming cherry tree at night. She smiles sweetly over her shoulder at the man at left, who scowls back at her, a black rooster tucked beneath his arm. The guard at right grins up at the beauty, a white rooster beneath his arm. Beautifully detailed with delicate cloth embossing on the white tunics worn by the guards, and embossing on the white rooster's feathers. A handsome design.
