Left Behind, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Dramatic kabuki scene of a man clinging to a rocky outcropping as a ship sails away from him, leaving him behind. He grimaces angrily as he peers around the rock, his face unshaven and his hair unkempt. A fellow beside him watches with a worried expression. In the ship at upper left, a distraught beauty waves both hands in alarm. Undulating waves crash against the shore and a low-lying cloud drifts above the surface of the water.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 18 3/8"
