Prince Genji at the Oi River Crossing

Comments - Handsome scene of Prince Genji, a princess, and their attendants waiting on the banks of the Oi river to cross. The nobleman smiles as he looks down, an ornate pipe in his hand, the beauty beside him holding a tobacco set. The princess stands next to an elegant enclosed palanquin at right, wearing a blue kimono patterned with colorful chrysanthemums. Behind them, porters lead horses through the water while a team of men carries a palanquin on poles at left. An attractive and interesting design with fine shading in the water and sky.
