Beauties Playing Ball, 1896 - Lovely scene of two young women playing with colorful balls on the verandah of a home. The beauty in the center kneels as she bounces a ball, the other women watching her with amusement. A flowering plum tree and pink and red peony blossoms frame the view at right. Wonderful detail in the beautiful kimono fabrics, with embossing on the white kimono collars and trim, and burnishing on the hair. A charming Chikanobu triptych showing the pastimes of upper-class women.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Small hole, repaired. A few creases and marks, light staining at edges. Please see photos for details.
