Comments - Handsome triptych depicting Mitsuuji, the Rustic or Country Genji, and a beauty on a summer morning. The beauty has just finished her bath, smiling at her companion as she dries the side of her face with her kimono sleeve. Her tie-dyed robe is loosely wrapped about her, the fabric trailing onto the floor. A fan patterned with peonies and a couple of books rest on the tatami mats lining the floor. Mitsuuji sits at right with a bowl in his hand, and a young attendant at left holds a black lacquer basin with a bowl of water in it and a toothbrush resting across the rim. The room overlooks a garden with decorative lantern next to a stone basin of water and flowering plants. An attractive design with a nicely detailed setting, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Small loss at edge, small wormhole, slight separation at end of vertical fold at side, repaired. Slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
