Original Edo era Japanese Woodblock Print
Actor as a Beauty with a Sword

Comments - Handsome Edo era kabuki portrait of a beauty balancing one hand atop a sword. She looks over her shoulder with a rather haughty expression, her hair pulled back into a bun with wings at the side of her face and longer locks falling over her shoulders. Her kimono is patterned with folding fans, and her obi is black with a design of interlocking circles. A paper lantern with writing on it hangs on a post at left, and a bamboo blind is rolled up above an open doorway. Nice detail in the setting.
