Series; Thirty-six Kabuki Poems

Ichikmura Uzaemon as a Commoner, 1865 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichikmura Uzaemon as a young commoner lifting his hat as he looks over his shoulder. The hat is made of overlapping leaves on a conical base. He smiles slightly, a few loose wisps of hair framing his face. He wears a striped kimono over a red under robe, and has a sword tucked into his waist sash. A cartouche in the form of an open book features a verse in calligraphy. An attractive composition with a colorful background shaded from blue to white to green.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. Small loss at corner, a couple holes, repaired. Slight toning and creasing. Please see photos for details.
