Series; Wives of the Tokugawa Shoguns, 1897

Wife of Tokugawa Ietsugu, No. 7 - Beautiful woodblock showing the wife of the seventh shogun, Tokugawa Ietsugu, on a verandah in spring. She catches a few of the flower petals drifting down from the cherry tree overhead, covered with a cloud of pink and white blossoms. Her kimono features a fantastic dragon pattern, and the white collar of her under robe is embossed. A lovely springtime scene with fine detail and delicate shading.

Image Size - 13 3/8" x 9 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. Slight toning and soiling, paper remnant at side, a few ripples. Please see photos for details.
