Unrolling a Scroll, 1895 - Beautiful autumn triptych of a group of women in an elegant interior, one sitting on the verandah as colorful maple leaves drift down through the air. At right, a young girl unrolls a scroll painting featuring a landscape with blossoming cherry trees. The child smiles happily as she looks up, a beauty gesturing at her with her hand. At left, a woman cuddles a black and white cat in her lap as she sits on an open windowsill. An attractive subject with lovely detail in the colorful kimono fabrics. A rarely seen Chikanobu design.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 27 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. Tape residue on reverse at top corners. Small thinning spot at edge, small loss, repaired. Slight toning, soiling and creasing, stains. Please see photos for details.
