A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

The Oath in the Peach Orchard - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as a Chinese leader in the historical tale "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," a story about the three warring kingdoms in China during the third century. He looks up with a tight-lipped frown as he strokes his beard with one hand. His other hand grips a glaive with a blade issuing from the mouth of a dragon. He wears a green tunic with a dragon and swirling clouds on it, and a purple cloth headdress. A blossoming peach tree frames the blue sky above. A striking design, nicely detailed.
