Poem by Chosui - Interesting design of a young couple in an interior, the man grabbing hold of the beauty's wrists as he tries to take a love letter from her. She leans forward, extending the letter across her body to keep it away from him. Her blue kimono is patterned with fishing nets hung out to dry, tied with a delicately embossed white obi. The room opens onto a garden with a blossoming cherry tree framing a view of bamboo pipes carrying water to a large tub. A fascinating subject, nicely detailed. We've only seen this image once before in reprint.

Artist - Harunobu (1724 - 1770)

Image Size - 11" x 7 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
