Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Kagekiyo

Comments - Terrific design of Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as the warrior Taira no Kagekiyo scowling angrily as he pushes away a samurai who has grabbed hold of his wrist, a naginata at his side. Kagekiyo wears a white kimono patterned with writing over his armor. His cropped hair sticks out wildly atop his head, with longer locks over his shoulders and a low ponytail over the back. The samurai at left wears a fine suit of armor and a helmet topped with slender horns, a sword with a broken blade in his hand. A fantastic design, beautifully detailed with and embossed geometric pattern on the white kimono, and burnishing on the naginata handle and the black sash around Kagekiyo's waist.
