Scene from Shiranui Monogatari, 1853

Comments - Interesting scene from the kabuki play "Shiranui Monogatari" of Aoyagi Harunosuke waving a blossoming cherry branch as he stands over the samurai Yukioka Fuyujiro. Harunosuke smiles as he looks warily to the side, wearing a blue kamishimo with delicate pink blossoms over a black kimono with a bold floral design. Fuyujiro bows his head with a frown as he kneels on the ground. Flowering cherry branches frame the blue sky overhead. An attractive design.
