Minoya Koman Kakemono, 1867 - Attractive kakemono or vertical diptych of the beauty Koman of Minoya. She smiles happily as she looks over her shoulder, drying the side of her face with a towel. She wears a blue and white cotton kimono with a bold leaf pattern over a red under robe, a red striped obi wrapped loosely around her waist. The landscape behind depicts a full moon over the water, with birds in flight above the far shore and a pleasure boat moving across the bay. A charming design, nicely colored and detailed with fine line work in the hair and faint cloth embossing in the background of the landscape. An interesting collaboration between Kunisada II and Kyosai.
