Fujiwara Masakiyo Ason, 1858 - Handsome portrait of Fujiwara Masakiyo (the real-life Kato Kiyomasa) sitting on a tiger skin, glaring angrily as he looks to the side. He wars a black robe with geometric print inserts and matching pants over a suit of armor, and a black court cap. Beautifully detailed with extensive burnishing on the black robe, pants, and cap. A nice design from this rarely seen Yoshikazu series, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
