Maiko in Winter

Comments - Beautiful portrait of a maiko or apprentice geisha kneeling beside a window, admiring a view of Kinkakuji Pavilion in winter. She wears a striking black kimono bordered with bright, stylized plum blossoms, tied with a bold orange obi with circular motifs of birds with outstretched wings. Her delicate hands are crossed in front of her, and her hair is adorned with colorful flowers and ribbons. An attractive image with burnished detail on the hair and folds of the kimono.
