Iwai Hanshiro as the Nun Kiyoharu, 1832 - Interesting kabuki portrait of a Iwai Hanshiro as the nun Kiyoharu standing at the base of a flight of stone steps. She carries a wooden pail filled with cherry blossoms, and looks down with a slightly crazed grin. She wears a blue robe over a kimono and has a blue cloth draped over her head, a string of prayer beads extending from beneath her sleeve. An expressive figure.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. Horizontal centerfold. A few small losses and holes, repaired. Creasing and wrinkling, slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, stain. Please see photos for details.
