Eighth Month: Hazuki, circa 1850 -1851 - Charming scene of Prince Genji playing a flute outside the garden gate of a young beauty's home in a parody of the tale of Ushiwakamaru serenading Joruri. At left, the nobleman smiles slyly as he plays, his sword bearer crouching beside him. Beyond the fence at left, autumn flowers frame a view of a pond with another building in the distance. Nicely detailed.
