Comments - Intriguing triptych depicting three stories of vengeance combined into one image. At upper left, the Soga Brothers attack Suketsune, the nobleman who killed their father, during Yoritomo's hunting trip to the foot of Mt. Fuji. At upper right, at young man fights off enemies at the base of a waterfall. The spirit of a beauty praying for his success appears out of the rushing water. At bottom center, two young women fight a rogue, one wielding a spear while the other grips a naginata. An intriguing design, skillfully composed and nicely detailed.
