Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Warriors at the Golden Pavilion

Comments - Handsome kabuki print featuring two warriors in front of the famous Kinkakuji or Golden Pavilion. The fellow at left looks up with an angry expression, his brows furrowed. His black outer kimono features a striking design of a dragon. The samurai at right watches him with a slight sneer, a tasseled command baton in his hand. Cherry blossoms frame a view of the red sky above. An interesting and unusual setting with beautiful architectural detail in the Golden Pavilion. Includes burnishing on the black kimono.
