Comments - Fantastic aerial view of Takamatsu Castle under water, with samurai inside the castle walls huddled on planking overlooking the rising floodwaters. In 1592, Toyotomi Hideyoshi decided to end his siege of the castle by diverting a nearby river, flooding the castle and leading to the surrender of Shimizu Muneharu, who held the castle for the Mori Clan. He watches from horseback at left, directing his troops with a command baton as his ships begin firing on the palace. An incredible scene with terrific detail. A great view of this legendary samurai battle tactic

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels. Vertical folds between panels. Small losses at edges, a few wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges, stain. Please see photos for details.
