Courtesan and Beauty with a Hand Drum, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene featuring a courtesan and a beauty holding a hand drum. The kneeling woman wears a striking kimono patterned with a bird with long tail feathers. Her companion is dresses in a red tie-dyed robe trimmed with a blue print over a red under robe, tied with a yellow chrysanthemum print obi. The screen behind her features an attractive landscape view. Nicely detailed.
