Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of Sasaki Gennosuke preparing to cook a fish in the countryside. He sits next to a cutting board placed atop a large bowl with a knife in hand, a crazed expression on his face. At right, a beauty kneels beside a pot hanging over a blazing fire, watching her companion with an alarmed look, her mouth slightly open. A structure made from an arched bamboo frame covered with straw and straw matting provides shelter for the pair amongst the foliage beneath a black night sky. Wonderful detail in the unusual setting.
