The Railway at Shinbashi

Comments - Interesting scene of the railway at Shinbashi, which began service to Yokohama in 1872. A few passengers peer out the windows of a car while others can be seen in the locomotive. At lower left, a Chinese man stands beside a fence with a blossoming cherry tree below. Smoke drifts across the sky from the engine, and also from a paddlewheel steamer in the harbor beyond. Nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Creasing, slight toning and soiling, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
