In the center, an enraged Nitta warrior kneels atop a wounded horse, raising his sword high above his head as the wind whips his hair. about The blue shade of his lips and around his eyes indicate that his death is imminent. He boldly faces two enemies who thrust their weapons at him. At right, a wounded warrior sits atop a lifeless body splayed over a bundle of bamboo, leaning on his spear, a severed head on the near his foot.
