Series; A Tokaido Board Game of Courtesans: Fifty-three Pairings in the Yoshiwara

Odawara: Chodayu of the Okamotoya, circa 1821 - 1823 - Charming portrait of the courtesan Chodayu of the Okamotoya looking over a railing as she takes a hairpin from her hair. She wears a green kimono tied with a pink obi decorated with circular iris motifs, one end of the sash hanging over the railing. Two large lanterns with blue and white crests rest on the floor behind her. At upper right, an inset depicts the post station of Odawara along the Tokaido Road. A handsome design from this rarely seen Eisen beauty series.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small losses at corners, slight thinning at edges, repaired. Toning along edges, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
