Original Kunisada II (1823 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauties and Blossoming Cherry Trees, 1856

Comments - Lovely triptych featuring beauties in an upper story room, admiring the blossoming cherry trees in the garden below. In the center, a woman kneeling at the railing gestures to her companion, who happily smiles back at her. At right, a matron holds a flowering branch with a poem slip tied to it. A beauty beside her carries a floral arrangement in a vase atop a red lacquer stand. A charming design, nicely composed and detailed.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 29 3/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Slight separation at end of fold between panels, small wormhole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
