Prosperous Bankokutei at Tsukiji, 1869

Comments - Charming image of beauties in the garden of the prosperous Bankokutei, admiring the blossoming cherry trees around a large pond. In the center, a young girl smiles at her companions over her shoulder as she points out the flowers. At right and center, guests can be seen relaxing in rooms opening onto the garden, while others stroll about the grounds. An attractive spring scene.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 28 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Paper remnants on reverse at top edge from previous mounting. Small loss at corner, a few holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few stains and creases. Please see photos for details.
