Takechi Mitsuhide Confronting a Servant

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of the traitorous Takechi Mitsuhide (the real-life Akechi Mitsuhide) confronting a beauty dressed as a yakko or low-ranking servant. He glares at her angrily as he holds a pole arm with both hands, wearing a straw raincoat over armor and a red kimono. The beauty smiles as she tilts her head coyly, while the farmer behind her grips a bamboo pole sharpened to use as a spear. From left, the actors are Nakamura Tsurujo, Iwai Hanshiro, Nakamura Shikan, and Nakamura Sojuro. Nice large colorful figures set off by the dark night sky.

Image Size - 13 1/8" x 27"
