Onoe Baiko IV as the Courtesan Osakayama, 1849 - Handsome portrait of Onoe Baiko IV as the courtesan Osakayama in the play "Fujimi Saigyo." She looks up with a worried expression as she kneels on the floor, her mouth slightly agape, one arm of her kimono extended at her side. Panels lining the back of the room behind her depict Mt. Fuji, creating an interesting backdrop for the figure.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight separation and thinning along vertical fold at side, wormholes, a couple tears, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
