Scene from Date kurabe Okuni kabuki, 1849 - Interesting scene from the play "Date kurabe Okuni kabuki, " a drama about the disputed succession of the Date clan. Here, a kneeling man throws his hands out in a stopping motion as he leans forward, frowning angrily. A young boy rushes forward at right with a concerned expression on his face. A sword lies on the floor beside a trunk at right, and a screen at left is decorated with peony blossoms. Nice expressive figures.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9 5/8" + left margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight separation at ends of vertical fold at side, small wormhole, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
