Watanabe no Tsuna and the Demon Ibaraki

Comments - Dramatic portrait of the warrior Watanabe no Tsuna holding the severed arm of the demon Ibaraki in one hand and his sword in the other as wind sweeps across the night sky. According to legend, the fierce Ibaraki had been harassing people who tried to pass through the Rashomon Gate, so the great Minamoto warrior Watanabe no Tsuna decided to investigate and vanquish the demon. Ibaraki attacked him, and the pair battled until Tsuna was able to draw his dirk and sever the demon's arm. Ibaraki went screaming away, and Tsuna took the arm home as a trophy. Here, he looks up with an angry scowl, the furry clawed arm visible at his side. A great bold image from this famous tale.
