A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Pretty Girls of the Present-day East - Lovely triptych depicting upper-class beauties enjoying the cherry blossoms on a spring day. The young woman sits on a cushion at bottom center, leaning against an armrest as a beauty offers her sake from a long-handled server. At right, another lady-in-waiting carries in a tray piled with sweets. The room overlooks a courtyard garden framed by flowering cherry trees. A few women kneel at the edge of the water, while others cross an arched wooden bridge over a pond. The palace extends into the distance on either side, the architecture carefully rendered. A beautiful design with vibrant color, detailed with light embossing on the white kimono collars.
