Comments - Charming kabuki portrait of Iwai Kumesaburo III as the courtesan Agemaki of the Miuraya. She looks back over her shoulder with a happy smile, wearing an outer robe patterned with peony blossoms over a brocade kimono and red under robe, tied with a green print obi that reverses to red. Her hair is pulled arranged in two loops, adorned with combs and many decorative hairpins. A flowering cherry branch frames the blue sky above. Nicely detailed with embossing on the white kimono collar and trim.
