Evening in a Prosperous District, 1866 - Handsome kabuki scene of two men taking an evening stroll along a bustling street. The man at right wears a fireman's quilted jacket patterned with a magic nine-tailed fox over his kimono, and he carries a pipe in a tobacco pouch. His companion looks up with a sly grin as he fastens a dotted cloth around his head against the cool night air. The silhouettes of men and women fill the street behind them. An interesting setting for the large expressive figures.
