News from Korea, 1882 - Dramatic scene from Korea during an uprising known as the Imo Incident, which took place on July 23, 1882. Korean soldiers revolted, attacking the palace and government officials, along with the Japanese legation and military advisors. The crowd destroyed buildings, killed many government officials, and occupied Changdeok Palace. Here, Japanese diplomats and soldiers watch from the safety of a hilltop as flames and smoke pour from the burning buildings below. Several of the men are wounded with blood soaking through their uniforms.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Vertical folds. Stitching holes at side of two panels, repaired. Slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details.
