Beauty Gathering Shellfish

Series; True Beauties

Beauty Gathering Shellfish - Lovely portrait of a beauty gathering shellfish, carrying a basket filled with clams. She smiles happily as she looks over her shoulder, the scarf draped over her head caught between her teeth to keep it from blowing away. The sleeves of her kimono are tied back with a cord, and her obi reverses from a black and peach stripe to an embossed red and white tie-dyed pattern. Beautifully detailed with delicate embossing on the scarf. A rarely seen Chikanobu series

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 12 7/8" x 8 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous mounting. Thinning spot at edge. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and stains. Please see photos for details.
