Comments - Lovely view of a stone torii gate that leads to a long set of stairs up a steep slope. Pines and trees covered with autumn foliage surround the gate, anchoring the composition, while the greenery in the distance is rendered in broad, soft strokes. Clouds drift across the scene at top and bottom. Beautifully composed, and skillfully carved and printed to achieve the look of a watercolor painting.
